MARZOCCHI SHIVER DC SHIM FIX

This fix worked for my Shiver DC but may not work for yours
When servicing my 2002 Marzocchi Shiver DC I always noticed that when installing the pre-load adjuster onto the cartridge that there was about 8mm to 10mm gap inbetween the spring and pre-load adjuster at it's highest most point and to finally reach tension on the spring you ended up with a large thread gap on the pre-load shaft.
So I found to resolve the issue like all other froks was to find a shim to place within the gap to give proper pre-load tension soon as started to adjust the springs pre-load adjuster.
Mine is a temporary fix since I plan to get the RC2X cartridge mod, but what I did was located two aluminum 10mm pipe spacers at my local hard ware store, and placed them in between the pre-load adjuster and the pre-load stack giving me my missing gap, T had to compress the spring a tiny bit to install them but it made a major difference when adjusting the initial pre-load tension.
Even when setting the Shiver DC Fork sag I felt the spring tension right away unlike with the stock setup I had to bring the pre-load in about half way down the pre-load shaft, then I could finally set my Fork sag to the proper height, now I caneasily set my fork sag right from the intial turns of the pre-load adjuster knob exactly how the fork should function, as I said before this fix may not work with everybodies Shivr DC but it mad a huge difference with min, also if you can gain access to a machinest who could make the exact size shim then that would be even betterr than the ones yould purchse from the hardware store.
